Hello friends!
I have been working on my dining room project on and off for three days now. I want to share with you a couple snippets of what I have been doing. I don't want to ruin the whole surprise so I wont share everything just yet.
I am just going to throw a whole bunch of pictures at you right now.
I primed and drew out the area I would be working on. I am kind of missing my light walls now...
Here I started Painting with some red paint I had already, but I didn't have enough and red needs a-lot of layers. Are you scared for me yet?
Ahh that is a bit better, I purchased the Gliddon color "Red Delicious" from Walmart. Still, wow I am not used to the massive amount of red. Next.....
Scetched out some treats and then projected it in to one of the little red squares on the wall.
Not super great, but by now I just want to be done. I haven't even shown you the big picture, but we will save that for another day. I hope you are all having a swell day!

Creating something new
Alright
You have to admit I have been in a little slump these days. I seem to have the black thumb for creating lately, but that is OKAY because you know what,it just is.So there you go. I WILL PERSEVERE!
I am putting some of my old projects on hold and I am going to start a new/old project. Is this a good idea? Of course because I am going to do it anyway.
So look what I get to work on.
What is that? A door? NO it is part of an old cabinet that my friend had in her kitchen. She got to get new pretty cabinets...I got all the junk leftovers, but I wanted them! When I say them, I mean that I have a-lot more pieces in my garage. This is just the tip of the ice berg.
I am planning on hanging this in my dining room, my wall is pretty sparse because as my husband would say "I think too much" I can not decide what I want, and I have limited resources. Here is the wall of my dining room.
See my sad little window, that has been relocated, to where? I don't know, but I will find a place.
Just thinking about another project right now, kind of makes me sick,so wish me luck.
If you would like to see what this turns into stay tuned, unless I ruin it and it ends up in the trash.

First stained glass
Hello friends,
The project I am going to share with you today has me up in a whirl wind. Do you remember this window from my unfinished projects pile?
Well I cleaned it all up and painted it yellow..,but I hated so I painted over the yellow with red, black and brown acrylic paint.
I painted and then smeared the paint off with a paper towel. I did this about 4-5 times on each side.
I then sanded the edges and splattered black and yellow paint randomly around the frame. Here is the end result to the frame.
The result wasn't bad so I moved onto the window area. I wanted a stained glass look. I drew a little pattern using wrapping paper, taped it on the back of the window and then traced over it with Gallery Glass leading.
After I traced it all, I let it dry, before I painted. Now was the painting part. I only bought the little bottles of the gallery glass so I couldn't just use select colors. I had to use them all so that I wouldn't run out of color. I discovered that it if I painted the color on with a fan brush and did a consist stroke design it wasn't so bad. I had to be very careful because if I added too much paint I would have a problem with bubbles.
The middle was the easiest and most enjoyable part of this project. I used the Gallery glass "Crystal clear" and just swirled it around to get the textured look. After it was all dry I put it up and alas I didn't like it. So I cut an umbrella design out of vinyl and stuck it to the back of my window.
I think it looks better, but I still don't like it. In fact it makes me sick every time I walk past it.There is a good ending to this story though because the paint is REMOVABLE! I like this painting project idea, but I am going to be changing this when I can find exactly what I really want. It was a good learning experience. Any ideas? I want a cozy feel and should I painted the frame cream or something?

Beehive napkin holder
Hello friends,
I have seen a-lot of awesome projects done using graphics from the graphic fairy. So I thought I would give it a try. I chose to paint my napkin holder that I found months ago at a thrift store for 50 cents. I chose the beehive graphic because I had already painted my wood yellow. You can find it here.
Before
Coloring pencil on the back of my image so I could transfer it to the wood.
Image transfered
Image now painted over with black acrylic paint.
I added bees to the sides and then sanded down my image and added chestnut wood stain.
I think it is cute! I am sure there will be many more projects using this same routine.
Alright have a good day. I am going to party with
The graphic fairy
20 below Thusdays
Terrific under ten Tuesdays
Thanks for stopping by.

My super treasures
Hello friends,
If you read my blog yesterday you will know that I was set on finishing old projects before I found any new treasures....BUT I COULDN'T HELP IT! My husband took me to a yard sale and they had exactly what I had been looking for on ebay, but better because it was only about $2.50!
It is a cast iron ladle set, I love it!
AAAAnd while I was there I thought I might as well pick up an old milk can that was less than $10. It wouldn't seem right to buy only one thing..
Do you blame me really? Really?
Yesterday I did try to finish a table runner that I have been working on for about 6 years, but I ruined it in my hastiness . So to heal my wounded ego I have decided to wait another 6 years to see if I can fix it,until then my pile of junk will just continue to accumulate.
Today I want to share my finds with:

Reality check
Hello Friends,
Here I am a 10:30am and I still have not done anything productive. Mind, I have high hopes that before this day is done there will be something accomplished. My first instinct was to go to the Thrift store or to Joanns, but as I looked around this morning I realized, that is the last thing I should do.
Today I am going to show you some of the MANY projects that I have either not finished or have not yet started. It is a bit overwhelming, have a look.
I wish I could say this was everything, but alas it is not. I am just having a hard time swallowing it all right now. But I am not be discouraged. I have hopes that this will keep me on track.
This month I am going to finish the most cost effective projects that I can from these photos. This means no new projects until I have cleared more space.
Who wants to join me? Do any of you have projects lurking in your corners or in my case right in front of your face?

Nice day for a summer dress
Hello friends,
Today is a toasty hot, melt your face off kind of day here in southern California. My two year old thought it was so hot that she decided to leave her clothes outside on the grass. I can't blame her, she was wearing jeans and a t-shirt. So I thought this was a great time to try out her new Summer dress! Yeah!
After I put this little number on, she was happy as a lark. I love to make summer dresses for her. I only wish I could make ones for me that wouldn't take forever ...and that would actually fit.
I got this pattern along with two others I bought from Joanns for $1.99 . The pattern is the one on the right. Butterick B4173.If you follow me then you will recognize these patterns from my other post here.
The fabric was free so you can't beat that right.
Now if only I could find a simple solution for my sprained toe everything would be even more peachy. Maybe if I actually looked where I was going :).
Thanks for coming by you can find me here this weekend.
